Update Log
I added some new neighbors and a couple other scattered links! I've been running behind on this for ages so I've decided to stop adding descriptions for each site. But everybody goes in a big section at the bottom that's always visible, if that makes up for it.
fiiiiinally putting a pokemon page back 2gether 4 my precious runts!! and also the others i guess. nothing very fancy yet but i did make a couple custom sprites
have some ideas 4 what i wanna do w that section of the site eventually but throwing that on the pile atp lol. a pokemon page was the first test thing i did back when i was starting this whole website purroject so it needed 2 exist again in some form
im switching a bunch of things over 2 avif or webp files (like all the screenshots here in the updates) 4 improved file size and quality!! wont be so jpeg artifacty anymore B33
added an identity flag setting option in the user menu! they display as lil ribbons on the sides of user profiles (only on wide screens for now, the css for narrow screens is fighting me a bit)
options are currently biased in favor of our own identities, if there's something you want added feel free to drop a comment and I'll probably add it
swinging pendulum clock for garfield!! i thought abt making it show the current time but then i came 2 my senses. so it does not do that.
also a few other small merch upd8s. ive b33n trying 2 get accur8 info on the merch im adding but its rly hard actually, a lot of stuff has ©1978 on it but thats NOT when it was made :'33
simple user purrofile now exist at /u/username (e.g. /u/codecreature)! this serves zero purrpose i just wanted to learn how 2 do it. uses bbcode if u wanna get fancy with it!!
u can also set a color style 4 ur purrofile, chat username, etc
finally, a couple new emojis added 2 the bbcode :33c
option added to the user settings page to make gameplay activity private! this means your gameplay stats won't show up in leaderboards, recent activity, etc. just in case anyone wants the benefits of logged in play without being subjected to the mortifying ordeal of being known 
the warnings page has some new functionality plus a css rewrite!!
now supports opt-in page-specific warnings, so if u dont want 2 b subjected 2 the kind of intense visual assault u get on pages like graphix, u can still browse the rest of the site no purroblem :33
also so many things abt the old css were driving me insane so we just. redid it. it was so old and weird that doing it from scratch was faster lol. the biggest deal 2 me purrsonally is that it uses 100% javascript-free css styling, INCLUDING the borders behind the robo cat and the top banner!! u do not wanna know how much misery we experienced over those when we furst attempted it
mobile layout is also a lil easier 2 use i think
theres a few more visual things we might upd8 someday but at least the most important things r done
chat bbcode now supports custom emojis! very small set for now, will probably add more at some point in the future
the right click message menu now includes a copy option
also hopefully fixed a bug with sending messages via the enter key on mobile
worm race now has seasons in addition to the all-time race!!!!
this has been the goal for an extremely long time and i'm really pleased to have finally had the time to do it. i think this should make the whole experience more rewarding, especially if ur fav worm hasn't done well in the past!
the beta race season will run until the end of may, after which it will start a standard 3 month season cycle with summer 2026.
in addition 2 the obvious updates needed for the new features, u may notice some very minor visual changes on existing areas. nothing too jarring i think
the only big thing left to do, other than fix any bugs this update causes, is to make a trophy case for each worm to display a consolidated list of its wins. then i'll be fully shifting gears 2 other projects indefinitely - finishing the fishing minigame maybe?
