assuming everything worked correctly, you should be able to delete or edit your own chat messages and report messages from other users! currently accessed via right-clicking; will create a better and more accessible system later. mods and admins also have the ability to delete other users' messages, though that means nothing to most of you.

i don't currently feel like doing the work necessary to prevent certain kinds of malicious behavior, so logged out users don't have permission to edit or delete their own messages.

also fixed it so the page doesn't refresh when you send a message. neat

users can now set their pronouns for the chats!

16 character limit but otherwise freestyling it.

made a simple navigation/hub page for chatrooms so they're accessible from a central location!

we've moved to a slightly different hosting plan (heliohost's morty server) that should have near-zero downtime. no more 502 bad gateway errors (hopefully!!)

chats now include a "load older messages" button so you can view more than 50 messages back!

i've also added a rules page as a general guideline for chatrooms. it's not that serious, just attempt to moderately behave yourselves. i aim to be a benevolent god

• usernames, icons, etc around the site pull from the user database based on a user's unique ID number
• username length limited to 16 characters. the 25 character limit was making layouts a nightmare, sorry
• password reset now displays error messages when something is incorrectly entered. still need to make it so it does this on the same page though

worm fan leaderboard pages should also behave more appropriately with long usernames, and scores over 999 are rounded and condensed.

couple of bbcode accessibility options added! it's integrated with the site-wide "proper english" feature, so you can add alt text to any regular text or text emoticons!

also fixed it so that you can use [u] underline tags

need to enable alt text for bbcode images next

Using the New BBCode Parser by Sean Werkema and Vanilla Forums to enable basic message styling! Current options listed in my very bare-bones BBCode guide. This is much better than what we had before (which was... you could put literally any HTML you wanted in there. not good or smart lol)

I've also added a basic warning page before opening external links sent by other users. Safety first and whatnot.

chat interface now shows the user's selected icon instead of a placeholder! also no longer accepts blank messages, and admin/mod messages have a colored border for some added clarity.
